Our Year At GFWI

Thank you for keeping the Global Faith & Work Initiative in mind as you consider your year-end giving. It is because of generous partnerships we were able to accomplish much in a year of great disruption.

Some 2021 highlights:

  • TRAINING LEADERS:
We held two sold out Designing a Faith & Work Initiative Intensives online and served 90 leaders from 13 countries. Those participants joined over 250 members of our Faith & Work Network alumni who are utilizing this training in their own ministries around the world. Our next online intensive being held in February of 2021 is expected to sell out as well.

  • NEW RESOURCES:
We developed two new resources in partnership with CTC affiliates- Prayers for Work: Industry Prayers for the Church and its People was created alongside CTC Latin America. Our South Asian affiliate helped us create Faith & Work Immersion, an intensive faith and work experience which is now being piloted by churches in our Faith & Work Network for a full launch in the spring.

Our The Calling of Faith & Work: Bible Study is currently being used in 130 churches in 22 countries. And we premiered three new videos on cultural renewal in the criminal justice system, fashion industry and travel industry.

  • INTEGRATING MERCY AND JUSTICE:
We piloted Unleashing Laity: Integrating Faith, Work, Mercy and Justice this summer with 20 pastors who wanted to help their congregants push against brokenness in their respective fields. We are now adapting that material into a course that will be available for all churches to use in the Spring of 2022.

  • WORLDWIDE IMPACT: We have worked alongside City to City's affiliates and regional leaders in Latin America, Asia Pacific, South Asia and Europe to create and execute strategizes for their regions. We partnered with CTC North America to launch faith and work initiatives in five U.S. cities that focus on the integration of faith and work with mercy and justice.

  • NEW CULTURAL RENEWAL INITIATIVES:
We piloted our Renewal Accelerator Cohort which is being led by NYTimes bestselling author Dave Evans. He is leading 15 participants as they cultivate their new ideas for pushing against brokenness in education, healthcare, trucking, non-profit, the arts, farming and more.

  • GOTHAM FELLOWSHIP:
168 new Gotham fellows were added to our growing body of over 1500 alumni who are now equipped to bring about cultural renewal through their various industries. CTC's London Project will launch a Gotham Fellowship in January which is a partnership of two London churches.

As 2021 come to a close, we thank everyone who partnered with us this year through prayer and financial support. Your faithful partnership will help us continue supporting more leaders and creating more resources to push against brokenness in cities around the world.
